EPCC is eagerly accepting competitors (Elementary, Junior, and High school level students) for an academic competition to be held in April. The deadline for submission is April 4, 2014. This competition is unique to our area and will benefit your students in a number of ways. First, it focuses on collaboration and team building. Second, it promotes and develops critical thinking and evaluation skills in the learners. Third, it develops student leadership and empowerment concerning issues that face the world today; encouraging them to “own” their future in a “fun and friendly” format. Teams will be placed in divisions and will only compete against their peer groups on tasks that are geared at an age appropriate level. The competition is scheduled for Saturday April 12, 2014 at the Transmountain Campus of EPCC. Registration forms are now available and there is no fee for registrations prior to April 4, 2014.

Broken down on a deserted logging road on their way to Yasgur's farm, home of the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival, two aging divorced hippie wannabes find that a piano has simply appeared on the roof of their air stream trailer. This sets off a bizarre night of everything from rattlesnake bites to psychedelic drug trips to a sexually frustrated serial killer with tree branch for a leg. Against this backdrop of craziness, the couple desperately tries to rekindle the spirit of the 60's in order to revive their long gone romance and discover why they have been put on this earth. Be among the first to experience the world premiere of Her We Almost Are.

FloraFEST is the annual fundraiser for the maintenance and operation of the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens. Shoppers can visit with local Master Gardeners and other plant experts for advice on how to care for their plants at home. Most of the plants sold at FloraFEST are not available at local nurseries or retailers.

Red River Rags and the Sun City Real Diaper Circle will be teaming up to co-host the El Paso site of an international cloth diaper changing event taking place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00am at Adventure Zone in El Paso, TX. In its fourth year with over 135 sites in 11 countries, The Great Cloth Diaper Change event will attempt to break last year’s Guinness World Record™ of 8,301 babies changed at one time.
